Yeah, wearing headphones is really common here, especially in big cities like Shanghai where I live. Since I take the metro every day, I notice almost everyone has them on - either for music or podcasts. Personally, I use mine during my commute to listen to design podcasts, though sometimes I have to take them off when transferring between crowded stations.
