Do younger and older people enjoy watching similar programmes/shows?

I'd say younger and older people often enjoy different types of programs because their interests and life stages shape what they find entertaining. For example, younger people in Shanghai, like my younger cousin, are really into short, fast-paced videos on apps like Douyin. They're drawn to quick, trendy content that's easy to consume during breaks or commutes. On the other hand, older people, like my parents, prefer longer, more traditional shows like family dramas or documentaries. They enjoy something that feels familiar and can be watched together. That said, there's some overlap, like cooking shows-both my cousin and my mom love watching recipes online, though for different reasons. So, while tastes differ, there are still common interests that bring generations together.
