I'd say short video apps like Douyin are definitely the most popular in China right now. The main reason is they fit perfectly into people's busy schedules - you can watch a quick video during a commute or while waiting in line. For example, in Shanghai, I see people scrolling through Douyin everywhere, from the metro to coffee shops. It's not just entertainment either - many professionals, including designers like me, use it to pick up quick tips or follow industry trends. That said, I do notice people sometimes get so absorbed they miss their subway stops!
