Before these platforms, I wouldn't have thought to buy it, but now it feels like a necessity. Companies also create urgency with limited-time discounts or celebrity endorsements, so even practical people end up purchasing more. In Shanghai, even my friends who prefer saving money often end up buying things they saw in targeted ads-it's hard to resist when the products seem tailored to your life.
