Are body language and tone more important than words when communicating?

Respuesta modelo Band 7.5

I'd say body language and tone often carry more weight than the actual words, especially in face-to-face communication. The reason is that they reveal emotions and intentions that words alone might not convey. For example, in my work as a UI designer, when presenting a new design to clients, even if I explain everything clearly, a hesitant tone or lack of eye contact can make them doubt my confidence in the project. On the other hand, a warm tone and open posture can make even critical feedback feel constructive. So while words matter, how we deliver them shapes how they're received.
