One time I remember waiting a long time for a reply was when I sent an email to my high school math teacher, Mr. Wang. He was such an influential person in my life, and I always looked up to him. I had been struggling with some math concepts, especially functions and solid geometry, and I thought reaching out to him would help.

It was a rainy afternoon in Shanghai when I finally hit send on that email. I poured my heart out, explaining my struggles and asking for some guidance. I felt hopeful, but as days turned into a week, I started to feel anxious. I kept checking my inbox, refreshing the page over and over. I even asked a couple of friends if they thought I should send a follow-up message, but I hesitated.

After about ten days, I finally received a reply. He apologized for the delay, saying he'd been busy with exams. He provided some great tips and even suggested a few resources to help me improve. His response was incredibly encouraging, and it motivated me to keep pushing through my difficulties.

Looking back, that experience taught me the value of patience and not jumping to conclusions. I realized that sometimes people are just busy, and it doesn't always reflect their interest or care. This lesson has stayed with me, especially in my work as a UI designer, where communication can sometimes take time.
