Is it good to have ambitious people in a work team?

I think having ambitious people in a team is generally positive, but it needs balance. The main benefit is they push everyone to aim higher-like in my UI design team in Shanghai, one colleague kept experimenting with new animation techniques, which actually inspired me to learn video editing. But at the same time, if someone's too focused on personal goals, it can create tension when teamwork matters more. For example, we once had a tight deadline where collaboration was crucial, but one member kept redoing their part to perfection while others waited. So ambition drives progress, but it has to align with the team's rhythm.
