I'd say governments are making some progress, but there's still a long way to go. In Shanghai for example, we have an extensive metro system and bike-sharing programs, which are great, but the infrastructure for cyclists isn't always safe or convenient. Just last week, I saw a delivery rider struggling to navigate between parked cars and pedestrians on a narrow bike lane.
The real issue is that electric cars and public transport need to become more affordable and accessible to compete with traditional options. While big cities like Shanghai are improving, smaller cities often lack the funding for such initiatives. That said, I have noticed more charging stations appearing around my neighborhood recently, which is a positive step.
