Contoh jawaban Band 7.5

One experience that really stands out for me is when I decided to sign up for my first half marathon about two years ago. At that time, I believed I wasn't cut out for long-distance running. I could barely manage to run two or three kilometers, and my busy schedule as a UI Designer in Shanghai made it seem impossible. Many of my friends thought I wouldn't be able to stick with the training.

In the beginning, it was tough. I remember the first week of training-I was panting after just three kilometers, and the next day my legs were so sore that climbing stairs felt like a major challenge. There were evenings when I'd finish work late and feel tempted to skip my run. But every time I thought about giving up, I reminded myself of my commitment to the race. So, I'd lace up my running shoes and head to a nearby park.

On the race day, the atmosphere was electric. I was buzzing with excitement, but around the fifteen-kilometer mark, I felt like I might collapse. I really wanted to stop, but then I saw the spectators cheering and volunteers offering water. That moment hit me hard; I realized all my training would be wasted if I quit now. So, I focused on reaching the next aid station, taking it step by step.

I ended up completing the 21 kilometers in just over two hours. Crossing that finish line was exhilarating! This experience taught me that persistence really matters. Since then, I've approached challenges in work and life with more patience, knowing that small, steady progress can lead to great achievements.
