Band 7.5 sample answer

Let me tell you about my friend, Lisa. She's fantastic at learning languages and can speak Mandarin, English, and French quite fluently. I remember one time when we were at a café in Shanghai, and a couple of French tourists were struggling to order. Lisa, without hesitation, switched seamlessly into French to help them out. It was impressive to see how she made them feel at ease, laughing and chatting with them about local dishes.

Lisa's approach to learning languages is quite unique. She immerses herself in different cultures by watching films, listening to music, and even using language apps daily. I've seen her practice her French by video chatting with native speakers she met online. She always emphasizes the importance of making mistakes and learning from them, which I think is a refreshing take.

Her ability to connect with people from different backgrounds really inspires me. It motivated me to start learning some basic French myself. I found myself picking up new phrases just by listening to her conversations. It's amazing how her passion for languages has opened doors for her and also sparked my own curiosity about learning.

What really stuck with me is how language can bridge gaps and create connections. Lisa taught me that it's not just about vocabulary and grammar but about understanding and connecting with others. So, her journey has certainly encouraged me to embrace language learning more actively.
