Overview

What We Collect: account data, the personal stories and profile details you enter, the answers and assets generated from them, translation content, payment status, support messages, analytics, and security logs needed to run IELTS Speaking Prep.

How We Use It: to turn your stories into personalized, band-checked IELTS Speaking answers, translate them, deliver your answer book, handle billing, keep the service secure, provide support, and improve the product.

How We Protect It: we limit stored operational data, do not store full card details, and design analytics and logs so they do not keep raw AI provider payloads.

Your Rights: where applicable, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or export of your personal information.

Information You Provide

  • Account information such as email address, name, avatar, login method, language preference, and access status.
  • Your six story seeds and profile details (for example study or work, hometown, hobbies, and the short personal stories you write), plus any edits you make to the assets and answers we generate.
  • AI request content such as your stories, profile, target band, exam region, and translation language, which are used to generate and translate your answers.
  • Payment status handled by third-party payment providers. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Support messages you send when you contact us for product feedback, technical support, billing support, or a refund review.

How Your Stories Are Used

The stories and profile you provide are used only to generate your personalized IELTS Speaking answers, assets, and translations, and to let you return to your workspace to edit and regenerate them.

We do NOT sell your stories, and we do NOT use them to train our own AI models.

You control what you enter. Please do not include sensitive information about other people unless it is necessary and appropriate.

Third-Party AI and Infrastructure Providers

When you generate or translate answers, relevant portions of your content are transmitted to third-party AI providers solely to process that request. Text generation and translation are routed through OpenRouter to large language models such as GPT-family and Claude-family models.

Cover images for blog and glossary content are generated with Replicate. Generated files and images are stored on Cloudflare R2. Hosting is provided by our cloud platform.

These providers process requests according to their own policies. We may update the specific models, providers, or routing over time without changing this policy. AI outputs should be reviewed and adapted by you before you rely on them for your exam.

Payments

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (Stripe, Creem, and PayPal, depending on the checkout). We receive payment status and order details but do not store your full card numbers.

Each provider processes your payment according to its own terms and privacy policy.

Analytics, Logs, and Advertising

We use analytics and structured logs to understand reliability, security, and usage. We use Google Analytics 4, and — where configured — Google Ads conversion measurement to understand which visits lead to sign-ups or purchases.

Advertising and analytics tags may set cookies and, where enabled, use hashed data such as a hashed email to measure conversions more accurately. Our logs are designed not to store raw AI provider payloads, API keys, or full card details.

You can control ad and analytics cookies through your browser and, where a consent banner is shown, through your consent choices.

Data Retention

We retain account information, your saved stories and generated answers, analytics records, and operational logs only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and support legitimate business operations.

You may request deletion of your saved profile and account data. Certain records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

International Processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including by our hosting, AI, analytics, support, and payment providers.

By using IELTS Speaking Prep, you understand that information may be transferred and processed in these jurisdictions as necessary to provide the service.

Children

IELTS Speaking Prep is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Choices

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or export of your personal information where applicable. You can edit or delete your profile and stories in the app; some information may need to be retained for security, billing, legal, or operational reasons.

We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
