Do the most competitive people always succeed in life?

Band 7.5 sample answer

I wouldn't say competitiveness guarantees success, because success really depends on how you define it. For example, in my work as a UI designer, I've seen colleagues who are highly competitive, always trying to outdo others, but they often burn out or miss the bigger picture. What I think matters more is collaboration and adaptability. Take Mr. Wang, my high school math teacher - he wasn't just competitive; he focused on helping us grow and understand, which made a lasting impact. So while competitiveness can drive progress, it's not the only factor. Balancing ambition with teamwork and resilience often leads to more meaningful achievements.
