Part 3a person you know who likes growing plants in their home or garden

Should all children learn how to grow plants?

Band 7.5 sample answer

I think children should definitely learn basic plant care, not just for the practical skills but for the patience and responsibility it teaches. My neighbor Mrs. Chen, who I mentioned earlier, shows how gardening builds character - you can't rush plants, and that's a valuable lesson for kids today who are used to instant results. In Shanghai, some schools have small garden plots where students grow vegetables, and I've noticed those kids seem more observant and calm compared to others. That said, not every child needs to become an expert gardener - the key is exposing them to the process so they understand where food comes from and develop that connection with nature.
