Part 3a time when you felt very proud of something a family member did

What things do young children do that make their parents feel proud?

Band 7.5 sample answer

I'd say parents often feel proud when their children show genuine effort and improvement, especially in areas they find challenging. The main reason is that it reflects their resilience and determination, which are qualities parents really value. For example, I remember my younger sister struggled with math during middle school. She wasn't naturally gifted in it, but she spent hours practicing every evening, and eventually, her grades improved significantly. My parents were incredibly proud, not just of her results, but of her dedication. That said, I think parents also appreciate small, everyday acts of kindness, like when children help around the house or show consideration for others. It's not always about big achievements-it's the effort and thoughtfulness that matter most.
