Part 3a person you know who is good at learning languages

Why do children often find learning languages easier than adults?

Band 7.5 sample answer

I think the main reason children pick up languages more easily is their brains are simply more flexible at that age. They absorb sounds and patterns naturally without overthinking grammar rules, which adults tend to do. For example, my little cousin in Hangzhou started learning English through cartoons and songs, and now she mimics the pronunciation perfectly without even realizing she's studying. Adults, on the other hand, often get stuck analyzing sentence structures or worrying about mistakes. That said, adults can still learn well with the right methods - like my friend Lisa who immerses herself in the language through daily practice. But children definitely have that natural advantage early on.
