Will crime disappear and laws become unnecessary in the future?

Band 7.5 sample answer

I don't think crime will ever completely disappear, because human nature is complex and laws exist to manage that complexity. Take Shanghai, for example-even with advanced surveillance and strict regulations, petty crimes like pickpocketing still happen in crowded areas like Nanjing Road. Technology can help reduce crime, but it can't eliminate the underlying motivations, like desperation or greed. That said, laws might evolve to address new types of crimes, like cyber fraud, which is becoming more common here. So while the nature of crime may change, the need for laws will always remain.
