I'd say there's been a noticeable rise in specialty coffee shops opening around my neighborhood in Shanghai recently. The main reason is that young professionals like me are willing to pay more for quality coffee and a comfortable workspace - it's not just about caffeine anymore, but the whole experience. For example, there's a new minimalist-style café near my office that's always packed with people working on laptops or having meetings. That said, some traditional tea houses have had to adapt by adding coffee options to their menus to stay competitive.
