Absolutely, location and climate play a huge role in shaping food traditions. That's largely because local ingredients and weather conditions naturally influence what people can grow and preserve. For example, in my hometown Hangzhou, we have a lot of freshwater fish dishes because of the nearby West Lake, while in colder northern regions, you'll find more preserved and hearty foods to withstand the winter. At the same time, modern transportation means we can get ingredients from anywhere now, but traditional recipes still reflect those original environmental factors. So while food culture evolves, you can still taste the history of a place in its dishes.
