Does society value some kinds of ambition more than others?

I'd say society definitely values certain ambitions more, especially those tied to visible success or financial gain. Take my field in UI design - people admire those who land jobs at big tech firms, while creative pursuits like indie game development often get overlooked. I see this in Shanghai where my friends working at Alibaba get way more recognition than artists running small studios, even though both require serious skill. That said, there's growing appreciation for different paths now, like content creation, which wasn't seen as 'proper' ambition before.
