Personally, I'd say the best thing about public transport in Shanghai is its efficiency and connectivity. The metro system here is incredibly extensive, which means you can get to almost any part of the city quickly and conveniently. For example, as a UI designer, I often need to meet clients in different districts, and the metro allows me to plan my schedule tightly without worrying about traffic jams. That said, it can get quite crowded during rush hours, especially on popular lines like Line 2, but the trade-off is worth it for the time saved. Compared to smaller cities like Hangzhou, where I'm from, Shanghai's transport system feels much more integrated and reliable for daily commuting.
