Well, the main reason is economic benefits. Tourism brings in foreign currency and creates jobs, which really boosts local economies. Take Hangzhou for example - my hometown - where West Lake attracts millions of visitors every year. All those tourists need hotels, restaurants, and tour guides, so it supports many small businesses. That said, there's also a cultural exchange aspect - when I visited Jiuzhaigou, I noticed how international tourists were fascinated by Tibetan culture, which helps preserve local traditions too.
