Why might younger and older people not enjoy the same music events?

I'd say the main reason is that younger and older people often have different energy levels and social priorities. Younger crowds tend to enjoy louder, more energetic music because it matches their lifestyle - like how my colleagues in Shanghai always choose those trendy clubs with booming EDM. But for older generations, they usually prefer more relaxed environments where they can actually have conversations. I noticed this at my uncle's birthday party last year - the younger cousins were dancing to pop songs while the aunties and uncles just sat at tables chatting over softer background music. It's not that one is better, they just serve different social needs at different life stages.
