I think people enjoy large music events mainly for the shared energy and escape from daily life. When thousands of people sing along together at a concert in Shanghai, for example, you feel this powerful connection that's hard to find elsewhere. My colleague went to a Jay Chou concert last month and said even though she didn't know most people there, the atmosphere made everyone feel like friends. That said, these events can be overwhelming - like the team gathering I mentioned earlier, sometimes the volume and crowds actually work against the social experience. But when it works, that collective excitement is really special.
