I think some people avoid planning their social life because they value spontaneity more than structure. For them, keeping plans loose means they can adapt to how they feel in the moment, which feels more natural. Like in Shanghai, many of my designer friends prefer last-minute meetups because our work schedules can be unpredictable-sometimes we're stuck finishing a project, other times we have unexpected free time. That said, too much spontaneity can backfire when everyone's waiting for someone else to take the lead. I've seen weekends where no one made plans, so we all just stayed home scrolling through our phones. So while flexibility is nice, a little planning helps actually make things happen.
