I actually disagree with that idea. Individuals can definitely drive change in society, especially when they influence people around them. Take my high school math teacher Mr. Wang - he didn't just teach me math, but changed how I approach challenges. That kind of personal impact spreads when students like me carry those lessons into work and life. Of course governments have more resources for large-scale changes, but real transformation often starts with individuals who inspire others. In Shanghai where I live, I've seen small community initiatives around recycling or neighborhood gardens that began with just one passionate person convincing their neighbors.
