I'd say videos are often more effective for learning practical skills, especially in my work as a UI designer. The main reason is that seeing the steps demonstrated visually helps me grasp concepts much faster than reading text instructions. For example, when I was learning video editing last year, I struggled with written tutorials, but watching someone actually click through the software interface made everything click for me. That said, for theoretical knowledge or when I need to reference details later, I still prefer written materials because I can scan and highlight them more easily.
