People's idea of the perfect job changes mainly because their priorities shift as they grow older. When you're younger, you might prioritize passion or excitement, but later, stability and security become more important. For example, when I first started working as a UI designer in Shanghai, I was all about creativity and innovation. I didn't mind working long hours or taking risks. But now, after a few years, I find myself valuing work-life balance and job security more. I think it's because responsibilities like saving for the future or supporting family start to weigh on your mind. It's not that passion disappears, but practicality takes a bigger role. I've seen this with friends too-many started in dynamic roles but later shifted to more stable careers. So, it's really about how life's demands reshape what we need from work.
