Part 3a time when you felt very proud of something a family member did

Do you agree or disagree that it is possible to give children too many prizes or rewards?

バンド7.5 模範解答

I think it's definitely possible to over-reward children. The problem is when prizes become expected rather than earned - that can actually reduce their motivation. I remember my high school math teacher, Mr. Wang, never gave praise lightly. If you solved a difficult problem, he'd acknowledge it, but he made sure we valued the learning itself. On the other hand, I've seen parents in Shanghai giving kids treats just for finishing basic homework, which seems counterproductive. The key is balance - rewards should recognize genuine effort, not become routine.
