Is being successful at work necessary for a successful life?

I'd say work success isn't everything for a fulfilling life, because people find meaning in different ways. For example, in Shanghai where I live, many colleagues who aren't top performers still have rich personal lives - they might volunteer, pursue hobbies like photography, or simply enjoy quality time with family. That being said, doing reasonably well at work does provide stability, which creates space for those other aspects of life. It's more about balance than chasing extreme career achievements.
