Should ensuring that all citizens are well educated be the top priority for societies?

I believe education should be a top priority, but not necessarily the absolute highest. The reason is that while education creates opportunities, people also need practical support systems to apply that knowledge. For example, in Shanghai where I live, we have many highly educated graduates, but some struggle to find jobs matching their skills because the job market keeps changing. That shows education alone isn't enough - we need career guidance and adaptable industries too. Of course, education builds critical thinking which helps people navigate these challenges, so it's still fundamental. But societies need to balance it with creating real-world pathways for people to use what they've learned.
