To what extent is technology likely to cause mass unemployment in society?

I think technology will change jobs more than eliminate them completely. The main issue is that automation tends to replace routine tasks first, which means workers need to adapt their skills. In my work as a UI designer, I've seen how tools like AI can generate basic layouts now - but human designers are still needed for creative decisions and understanding user emotions. That said, in manufacturing cities like Hangzhou where I'm from, some factory jobs have definitely decreased due to robots. The key is whether people can transition to more complex roles that machines can't handle yet.
